buying any electric car is like buying an overpriced iphone
electric cars are also the same as iphone life span!
Best Ev category is similar to Best STD to catch
Mg ev4. Best "value" ev with long range
EVs are a pthetic waste of money. Their WLTP range is never acheived in the real world. 60% usually if you are lucky. Add to that it is recommended only to charge to 80% and they are even less useful. Also how much of your life are you prepared to waste waiting for the thing to charge? That is if you can find a charging point that works.
They only "seem" expensive. You can actually get one free with every big mac meal on Tuesdays.
I have a Zoe 135 intens and I’ve tried to do an upgrade but all the ones I’ve tried, Born, Megane, which seem to be the best on paper, in practice they seem less agile and reactive in town than the Zoe. I’m waiting now for the new R5, cuora urban rebel and Tesla model 2.
I'd personally consider Kona EV, Renault Mégane and Kia Niro, that are also excellent options…
Did you notice that these electric car salesman seem to target women more than men ? .. I wonder why that is ?
The Cupra has the most potential to improve what it has if one waits for the newer models next year. It does require a drop in price to around £30K, and and improvement on the infotainment, ergonomics of the steering wheel and heads up display. Cupra is a dedicated sports EV brand which has been designed exquisitely in Barcelona, on behalf of VW in Wolfsburg. The car itself is manufactured in Zwickau, Germany.
At 0:38 you say "less than £32,000" but says more than on screen. I assume the voice over is correct and the video wrong?
Kia Soul EV is a great small EV with long range, great warranty, lots of kit. It looks odd but I have had mine for over a year and it does everything really well.
All of these are way to expensive for me and I make well above median salary.
The cupra born would be my first pick from this line up in video, if money no option I'd have a Kia ev6 or the Mustang Mach e they're beautiful looking cars, especially a Mach e in pearl white colour 👌👍
smart #1 can beat any car in this vedio
Way to expensive. These arent affordable. 18000 is max lve ever paid for a car and cant affird that again…when they 15000 l will get one…what a total rip off these cars are…utter garbage for the price.
The £1.5K plugin car grant has now gone apparently from our very progressive government (NOT!)
What about BYD and others from China. Ora Cat for example?
Such a bias review. Honda e is not that small. It is much bigger inside than a Mini or Fiat, and has more style than the value option Zoe. Leaf, ID3 are bigger. Agree that Cupra is good, if you need a bigger car. Honda e range is not an issue for many of us. And in current “warm weather” my predicted range has reached 150+ miles of late. And the performance is quick. 0-62 time comparisons don't tell the story. 30 to 50, or 40 to 60 in a few seconds is what you need to overtake. And I use to drive Audi TT and Honda S2000 – the “e” is not boring!

What is best in life? : To crush your enemies. See them driven before you.
Electric cars scream, "Look at me! I love steaks made from compressed vegetables."
I3 rex is way better than all of this! No anxiety!
The info here simply isn't correct, we have the Zoe 50 mentioned here and it is not as shown, it has additional ports under the badge than shown here and supports CCS and type 2 charging and, in fact, on a rapid tesla charging station, will charge a little faster than some tesla models.
Honestly I would have expected better research than this given how important it is to inform people about how far EVs have come
Do not buy a Chinese built EV , BYD stands for " Bring your Diagnostics " As they are built in China and last 24 hours lol
This video makes Americans cry.
Electric cars are become an environmental disaster. A manufacturing disaster of highly toxic batteries, poisoning our invironment. They emitting dangerous fumes while charging and discharging in cars, not to mention disposal of these toxic chemical laden batteries into our invironment, when there no longer needed. GREEN ENERGY ?? I don't think so !
I do about 50-70 miles a week in my old ford focus diesel and spend about a tenner a week on fuel. I would love to own an electric car but I just can't see why the hell I would spend so much money on these new toys. Seriously, you talk about 30,000 quid as if it's nothing, it's just not acceptable to the normal working person with a family to support.
Problem: most of those cars are not really small after all.
Had a [Standard Edition 450 SLC] early 80's and only car did 108 miles in an hour – not saying where as might get the Fuzz after me – but no speed cameras then – also did
see 150 mph on speedo. Been a big Mercedes fanboy and now have a sedate (W247) B200CDi Class AMG Line – more interested in mpg than mph at my age, and best 85.6 mpg
over 108 miles at average speed of 53 mph. My previous car (W246) B200 AMG CDi did in fact beat this with 113 miles covered in an hour between München – Stuttgart on the E8 – but my son was driving, however over 50mpg – amazing !
Fact is Modern Diesels emit less CO2 (Euro 6) and have AdBlue Technology and enormous torque at low revs – love my B200 8 Speed AMG CDi [2019] with all the kit – 85.6 MPG over 108 Miles at Average Speed of 53 MPH and engine so quiet you can hear every word in songs playing from Multi-Media System – rarely seen over 2000 rpm and in Eco Mode if chosen can FreeWheel for Miles ! Hey Mercedes Take me home !
Mercedes 'B' Class that can get 2 Mountain bikes in rear without dismantling them, and on a Ski Holiday [sadly 2 years ago] got 3 passengers and all luggage including Ski's in with 1/3 seat down. Model W246 B200 CDi and 143 MPH on Autobahn and on non-stop return trip 797 Miles 14:14 hours Average 54 MPH [inc Ferry] and 50.4 MPG. Since then got a W247 B200CDi with all the kit – absolutely amazing and so quiet most passengers think they are in an Electric Version – I kid you not, at 60mph in 8th Gear engine 1100 RPM totally silent, on a good road like floating on air – since purchased a 2019 B200CDi AMG Class that has achieved 85.6 MPG over 108 Miles at Average Speed of 53 mph !
Give our petrol and diesel cars up, give our diesel trucks and plant up,just to watch it all move to third world countries. All they've done is move the problem away and make our lifestyle horrendously expensive.
UK politicians at its best.
I feel sorry for electric car drivers and future owners. They will simply have to learn the hard way .. as I did. These things are a huge hassle and a outrageous expense in the long run. Batteries are very … very expensive to replace ( thousands of dollars) … and make no mistake, you will be replacing them.
Where's the Kona?
China produces evs at less than usd 10,000.
An ID3 and Born are not small 🤣, those things are bigger than a Kia Niro!
Unaffordable. EV’s are a con job
Yeah, as long as u can afford……..
The government EV discount has been scrapped.
The dashboards on all these cars look so cluttered and fussy. Surely a distraction when you're driving that the knobs and buttons are all over the place and that the touch screen has sub menus? Also aesthetically the sweeps and curves of the plastic dashboards are way over the top. Look to the Kia eNero for how a dash can be functional, simple and easy on the eye.
