My 2019 Miata has everything open pretty much, they know who they’re selling to. Respect Mazda ❤️
New complex technology isn't always better. You're spot on Scotty. 😲😲😲
New car daily old car fun car
I hate the new cars I would have bought a new Toyota, but they went all hybrid on minivan no regular engine available they may be keeping the government happy but not their customers
Can't say it any better sir. Most recent modern cars are actually designed to squeeze money from you as all will need to be done by the authorised service centre, they don't want you to know how to even change the motor oil. Their 5 yrs plan will be to eradicate all home based or DIY mechanics.
always wondered why poors buy high tech cars… or models that have expensive parts.
My new Honda engine bay looks pretty much the same as your 94 cilica it doesn’t even have a beauty cover. So it depends on what car you got instead of new vs old in the Middle East we still have Toyota Land Cruisers that have the same engines as the old ones just produced this year
Sick of warning ppl off modern cars. They dont listen and get stuck with big bills
New cars have a computer to give u an idea where to start looking. U can have three codes and it's as simple as seeing what trips those 3 codes and a+b+c=d. New cars aren't all that bad. Stop being an old man
Yes that's why im keeping my 2005 Malibu 3.5 Liter great car.
I recently did a front brake job on a friend's 2006 Prius. I didn't realize at first that the computer needs to be reprogrammed. The replacement of pads and rotors was done properly, but the car was very unsafe to drive afterwards. Braking action was happening only on one side, with the wheel bouncing and skidding combined with terrible stopping distance and control problems. Luckily the computer could be reset without a special scan tool or expensive trip to the dealer. Connect pins 4 and 13 on the OBD port, then press the brake pedal EIGHT times. This makes the computer re-calibrate the brakes. Everything was totally fine after that. Computers are a big problem when they make your car unsafe to drive after routine maintenance!
"Think old car. Not new car."
Best thing I've ever heard anybody say.
What is considered old
16 and got a 99 accord as my first car, so easy to work on and very simple
Old Mercedes and Volvo 1965-2006♥️♥️♥️🇩🇪🇸🇪👍
There also have plastic intake manifolds instead of aluminum or cast iron.
Found myself an 08 civic si with less than 120k and mostly stock for 12k…gonna be a fun project 💁🏻♂️
And, if you go even older, it gets a lot simpler. Cars before fuel injection you can fix with a bag of hammers. No electronic sensors to go wrong. Most complex thing in the vehicle was probably the radio (or those electronic distributors, if you get into the 80s).
So, you mean before 1979?
Seen a new video thought you were quitting YouTube 56 time this year big surprise
It used to be just "planned obsolescence" so you had to go out and buy new things. And fix things within a certain amount of time.
Now they build things where you can work on them at all. And they break down so quick there's still practically brand new.
this is what it means for old cars
old is gold✨
We can't work on news car
ik, my truck has little to none of the modern crap in it, just like no transmission dip stick and no key hole on passenger door handle to manually lock the passenger door and even an advanced alarm system, it’s a 2006 so of course very little modern crap
you need your own TV show
Newer cars remind me of overpriced toys. I like my cars to look good, clean and shiny yet reliable. I have coworkers with newer cars and old headaches, bunch of issues with electronics and such, don't need that crap and anyone who needs a backup camera to back up should not be driving.
No oil dipstick is just flat out disgusting.
Soon there will be no hood. The engine will be completely sealed away. Only the dealer can break the seal.
Volvo heavy trucks have a light control module, which is buried under the fuse panel. 800$ and then you have to take the truck in for an hour computer time to program it to the truck.
You just can't beat Old School. But, there are those car people out there that are not just unteachable, they are unlearnable. We all know at least one.
